Sara Fitzsimmons


Sports and fitness have always been a part of my life. I believe movement is one of the greatest gifts we’re given — a way to connect with ourselves, challenge our limits, and stay grounded through life’s ups and downs.


I grew up in Garland, TX, where I played varsity tennis at Garland High School and served as team captain my senior year. That passion led me to Southwestern University, where I continued playing tennis and majored in Kinesiology. I had the privilege of learning from incredible professors — some of whom worked with Olympic teams — who taught me to ask questions, stay curious, and never stop growing.


After college, my professional path led me into the tech world, but fitness never left my life. I ran half marathons and eventually felt called to something bigger — the marathon. Inspired by my dad, a lifelong runner, I applied to run the 50th TCS New York City Marathon in 2020. I was selected on my first try — then COVID hit. I finally ran the race in 2021, and crossing that finish line was one of the best moments of my life.


Since then, I’ve continued challenging myself with new goals — completing the Boston Marathon and Grandma’s Marathon in 2023, and competing in HYROX mixed doubles (2022) and women’s doubles (2024). These experiences continue to fuel my passion for fitness, competition, and what we’re all capable of when we stay consistent and committed.
